Stainless steel, engraved into the metal rather than surface-printed. Like most stainless steel it contains nickel, bound within the alloy so that very little reaches the skin. Sensitivities vary, so if you have a known metal allergy try a short wear test first and stop if any irritation appears. Gold-tone versions are electroplated and the finish can fade over time, so keep them out of the shower and away from cosmetics and perfume.
